British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has opened a Sainsbury’s Local store in Northowram, UK.

Northowram Bradford Road Local will offer Sainsbury’s latest convenience products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy snacks and food-to-go, as well as sweet, savoury and frozen staples.

The 4,011ft² store will also stock a selection of bread and pastries, which are baked fresh each day.

In addition, customers can use the in-store Click and Collect service for products ordered online, including Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing products.

The store will also offer hot drinks for takeaway via a Costa Coffee machine.

Northowram Bradford Road Local is located in the historic Tannery Business Centre and will be open between 7am and 11pm seven days a week.

Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been given the chance to become part of the ongoing history of The Tannery Business Centre, creating new jobs and helping to ensure it will continue to be a vibrant local hub for Northowram for many years to come.

“We’re looking forward to getting to know our new customers and to seeing the Centre grow as the plans for its redevelopment progress further.”

Sainsbury’s Northowram Bradford Road local store manager Feraz Hussain: “We’ve been working hard to get everything ready to launch our brand new store and I can’t wait to hear what our customers think.

“Whether by providing great value, high-quality products, brilliant colleague service or making a wider contribution to the local community, my team and I are ready to play our part.”

As part of its efforts to support the communities it serves, Sainsbury’s has announced a £3m ($3.6m) donation to help address food poverty this Christmas.

In September this year, the retailer opened Sainsfreeze, a first-of-its kind walk-in freezer concept store, at the Boxpark mall in Shoreditch, London.
