Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been given the chance to become part of the ongoing history of The Tannery Business Centre, creating new jobs and helping to ensure it will continue to be a vibrant local hub for Northowram for many years to come.

“We’re looking forward to getting to know our new customers and to seeing the Centre grow as the plans for its redevelopment progress further.”

Sainsbury’s Northowram Bradford Road local store manager Feraz Hussain: “We’ve been working hard to get everything ready to launch our brand new store and I can’t wait to hear what our customers think.

“Whether by providing great value, high-quality products, brilliant colleague service or making a wider contribution to the local community, my team and I are ready to play our part.”

As part of its efforts to support the communities it serves, Sainsbury’s has announced a £3m ($3.6m) donation to help address food poverty this Christmas.

In September this year, the retailer opened Sainsfreeze, a first-of-its kind walk-in freezer concept store, at the Boxpark mall in Shoreditch, London.
