Lifestyle and performance footwear company Skechers has launched its flagship store at Shanghai Disney Resort in the Disneytown shopping district, China.
The new 2,777 ft2 Kids Brand Experience flagship store is the brand’s first retail location at a Disney resort property.
The stand-alone store offers collections of various styles and lightweight athletic sneakers for kids of all ages. It also houses an area designed for parent-child styles and clothing.
Skechers president Michael Greenberg said: “Adding Disneytown to our portfolio is a seminal moment for our retail business.
“This amazing location is front and centre in the middle of the action at Disneytown and offers a unique opportunity to expose a wide range of consumers to our Skechers Kids product.
“Our footwear and apparel collections for boys and girls are filled with innovation and fun styles that continue to resonate within China and around the globe.
“This unique Skechers Kids store illustrates how we adapt to a location so that we can connect with consumers in new and exciting ways to elevate the shopping experience.”
The retailer also has flagship stores in New York’s Times Square, Covent Garden, London, and Harajuku, Tokyo.
The new store at Disneytown joins the brand’s 1,000+ retail stores in the country, while the company operates more than 3,300 Skechers stores globally.
Last month, the retailer announced plans to reduce plastic in its footwear packaging by 85%.
